Hi Dan, Happy new year. I have run into a problem with VS. You may recall it was me that first brought the heap crash bug in Win 7 to yours and Vlad's attention, meaning running ver 3 wasn't possible for me until a fix was found. So I have been running ver 2.86 until this morning when VS wouldn't load and informs me that my present version is outdated and would I like to download the latest version - which obviously I don't want to do until it is fixed for Win 7, so when I click 'NO' it doesn't load. The Voodooshield service.exe is running but the other isn't. Is there anyway to continue to run 2.86 until a fix is found for Ver 3 ? Thanks Gordon
Executables are still running from the browser with that advanced setting option ticked... Personally there is a few of those that I wouldn't keep checked anyway
ok... just updated to v2.86.. and now the program is running in a loop!! I start the program, a popup shows informing me the program is out of date, and do I want to update...I click NO, and the program shuts down!!!.. It will not run, even after updating, I get the same problem... I've even removed the program and re installed... no joy!! what gives?
Hi, See my post 8343 above..... I've just had an e mail fron Dan about this problem (Thanks Dan !) pointing me in the direction of a newer version of 2.86 which I just installed over the top and my VS is back in action again. Try this version of 2.86 ... https://voodooshield.com/Download/versions/InstallVoodooShield.exe Gordon
Hmmm, that's odd, maybe it's not the same problem I had. I'm sorry it didn't work for you. I'm sure Dan will be along soon and offer some input. Gordon
VS 2.0 was set to expire at the end of the year. If anyone has issues, please download the latest version here: https://voodooshield.com/Download/versions/InstallVoodooShield.exe If you are running 3.0, please disregard this message and go back to enjoying your beer . If anyone still has problems, please let me know. Thank you!
Hehehe, the thing about machine learning and Ai is... It is EXTREMELY difficult get it to work correctly for malware detection... trust me, I know. And yeah, it is nothing new, it has been around for 5+ years now (mainly in academic circles), but no one has been able to get it right, OR they have used in incorrectly. There are some companies that are trying to utilize it as a malware scanner, and honestly, that is just silly (and actually it kinda gives machine learning and Ai a bad name). What it SHOULD be used for is for is to analyze unknown files that are not previously whitelisted. That is why it works so well with VS, and why I have worked extremely hard to get this right. I believe that the combination of locking your computer while it is at risk, and analyzing the blocked files with 57+ blacklists and machine learning / Ai is the holy grail of computer security. So while Vlad has been finishing up VS 3.0, I have been working on VoodooAi... and actually, he has helped me with a few issues that were difficult for me to solve . This all actually worked out well for me because I was kind of bored not having something to work on . I probably should not have released VoodooAi when I did, but I wanted you guys to see the difference between the old version and the newly trained version with an adequate training data sample size. As far as I know, there are only 2 remaining issues with VS 3.0... the heap issue and the grey box issue. The grey box issue is extremely easy to fix... we just need the path of the file that was blocked when you experience this issue. Vlad is working on the heap issue, so hopefully that will be fixed soon. Happy new years everyone!
@VoodooShield So final vision for VS is : Toggling vulnerable process\unknown application anti-executable Emulation (Cuckoo sandbox) VoodooAi (artificial intelligence\machine learning) VirusTotal-based scanning ? I have stayed away from VS forum since I know there is a lot in the works. All these things take time to get sorted out and there really isn't any feedback I can give at this point that I have not already provided. I've been checking in on a regular basis. Patiently awaiting future release for beta testing...
@VladimirM Has the command line white-listing and wild-card support been fully implemented\resolved ?
Happy New Year, Dan May this be the year of VS Ai, and of greater and better things for you, my friend. Regards, Baldrick
Hi, I've just installed this version, rebooted, and was welcomed by the 'this version has expired...blah, blah..' popup.. which terminated the program when I clicked 'no'... so still no joy!!! :-(
There is no “final version”, but currently VoodooShield is toggling desktop shield gadget / computer lock that 1) has the unique ability to automatically whitelist safe items (thereby avoiding the dangerous affirmative user prompt as much as possible, especially for computer novices), 2) lets the user know the status of the lock at all times, 3) provides a simple and quick way to disable the lock, since if you are going to put a lock on a system, you need to be able to turn it off quickly, and 4) lets the user know they are safe + 57 blacklist scan + VoodooAi’s machine learning / Ai analysis + VoodooShield’s false positive detection feature + cuckoo sandbox (which will be developed even further soon to make it easier to use) + VoodooAi’s new massive cloud based list of safe default processes that are automatically allowed. I actually believe that VS will be even more effective, transparent and user-friendly on mobile devices. We are currently looking to license our IP to a phone manufacturer, mobile carrier, etc. The mobile business is highly competitive, and all of the companies are looking for that one feature that gives their company the edge over their competition. Being able to claim that their mobile devices are the only ones that automatically lock when they are at risk, I am assuming will be highly valuable. If anyone can help us make that connection, please let me know, we will make it worth your while!
Hmmm, that is odd. Have you tried to exit out of VS and delete all of the .dat files in the C:\ProgramData\VoodooShield directory? I think Vlad has fixed the heap issue... I will let you know asap!

Hi Vlad Happy New Year to you. Many thanks...all installed here and seemingly running well on both Win 10 Pro 64bit & Win 10 Home 32bit. Regards, Baldrick
Hey Dan, I've just logged in to my VS account to see how long my license had left as I don't currently have VS installed but there is no information available RE subscriptions. Could this be changed at some point? Currently it looks like I'd need to install VS to check if my subscription is current. @VoodooShield ? Thanks, Dave
At the moment I am still running 2.86. There is a problem with it that blocks my USB scanner. Training does not work and I have to exit VS to get it to work.
