Just a suggestion, would it be possible to add a "Custom Read-Only Folders” to VS? That way we would have a way to lock-down our most important folders without having to resort to other programs ;).

Running windows 10 build 10130 at the moment with VS 2.73b. Dismhost.exe still triggers Voodooshield alerts frequently as other users have mentioned. I can understand that this is probably a hard one to nail down as the file origin is a different appdata temp folders all the time. I might give Cryptoprevent a go on Windows 10 to see how it handles this, as I use it on my Win 7 machine.

PS: Thanks for the licence Dan

    Just a little fyi.

I pretty much got my new OS sorted out. I have VS in training mode. I find that ideal.

My other AV/AM goes crazy now before that (like FP SEMs).

VS is no trouble at all. It's like it isn't there.

Yes it took a while to get there. But remember, I was installing a brand new OS and multiple programs.

    Anyway, it's done.

I don't hear a peep out of VS.

It was a bit of a pita, but no one would use it like that in the real world. It got through with nothing bad to report. A bit of inconvenience, that's all.

    I've got a fully tested Win7 (x64) system now.

My MalwareBytes full test runs out in a day or so. So does the Hitman Pro Alert (that I didn't activate).

I don't even know how many computers this license is for. I would expect it is the full price per computer, and that would just be for the full year. And that is more than fair enough.

I haven't even activated it yet, still using the free version.

Thanks for the license. I think this and WSA, really sorted!

Lots of people like me, even with a full license, need the time to get around to installing it.

I really am gibbering now. Make of it what you will.

    :)

I second that Dan, as the upcoming Palemoon v26 is changing it's engine to Goanna, with possible compatibility issues for add ons. (thinking noscript) So PM users may end up changing to another FF clone to keep our add ons. I have Cyberfox in mind.

    Thanks
    Gordon

Does VS need to be rebooted after install or just if UAC is enabled? Has it changed at all?

I just installed the latest beta and it seems like my internet is dragging since installing it especially facebooko_O

EDIT:I'll put it in training mode for awhile and see if the issue goes away.

After putting VS in training mode for awhile, my internet seems to be acting better. not sure why it was acting up in the first place

I've found an annoying little issue with VS. Some programs, when installing, create a file in the temp folder that VS will alert you of, and if you hit ALLOW, it will try to continue, then the same alert will pop up, and it thus gets caught in an endless loop. I can't remember the exact program, but it has happened for multiple programs, making me have to temporarily disable VS completely to let it install.

Auto-quarantine does not function - nor does timer...

In fact, timer malfunctions in all notifications - including balloons and pop-ups.

Also, the PeaZip cmd.exe block notification balloon still occurs.

    Best Regards,

    Suggestion...

For maximum usability, there really should be a link to a detected file's Virus Total page - so the user can see which AV engines have detected it... instead of the user having to upload the file manually to see the VT report.

Plus, selecting the links in the detection notification (e.g. Trojan.Win32, etc) often takes the user to a search page results rife with fake AVs and fake malware removal tools. Has anyone looked carefully at the search results?

    Best Regards,

    HJLBX

VS 2.74 beta just updated to 2.75, which is available for download from VS site.

    https://voodooshield.com/

No restart required. Updated smoothly without even needing to close the beta first.

    Nice one Dan!

You're welcome, PTD! I was surprised I was prompted to update before Dan announced the new version release. ;)
Possibly because it's Sunday arvo here, mate.

Enjoy Dan! I'm sure you've earned it.

    Thank you! :thumb:

Same here, and thankfully we can now move the placement of the shield and thus allow the Aguard motif to run without hindrance.
