VS blocked the following: c:\windows\system32\conhost.exe "-229208061919898010-18463975781924818821-1620140479-1831381111-3801501221002492504" This must have something to do with Hitman Pro Alert. VS has not blocked anything to do with conhost.exe in a long time on my machine, and I just installed the latest beta version of HMPA. I did receive a prompt giving me the option to allow it, but I was away from my computer for several hours. If this does belong to HMPA then maybe this one will need to be hard coded.

v2.14 was a special language build out of sequence not a full release...maybe go back to 2.13 beta
Thought you had startup issue ~ Never mind

Erik from surfright informed me that the blocked action involving conhost.exe was not associated with Hitman Pro Alert in any way. I'm not sure why VS is just now prompting me about it.
    c:\windows\system32\conhost.exe "-229208061919898010-18463975781924818821-1620140479-1831381111-3801501221002492504"

    Feature request:
When dragging a leaktest file to voodooshield it flags it as a trojan and gives the option to block quarantine or mark as false positive.
Since it is a leaktest i would just want it to block once.

Yes i know i could delete it in the logs but it is easier to have VS block once like in NVT anti exe

Just wanted to confirm that I had similar conhost.exe string blocked by VS but was only once or twice. This was on Windows 10 TP build 9879. Although it was random and I couldn't figure out what caused it.

Months ago VS was blocking command Line Strings of conhost.exe pretty regularly, but I had not seen any blocked recently. Dan hard coded VS to allow all the one's reported. Maybe a recent Windows update is the cause.

I made TONS of progress over the weekend. I just have a few more small bugs to work out, then I will catch up on the posts that I missed.

BTW, the UAC with Vista issue is fixed, and I am extremely close to having the startup issues completely resolved too. And pretty much everything else is fixed too, although it looks like I have to test VS with Sandboxie to see what is up.

VS has needed a new UI for a long time, so that is one of the things that I did over the weekend. I love the layout, but I am not quite sure on the colors, so please recommend some good colors (I am pretty much color blind ;).

I hope to have the new beta ready within a day or 2! I was going to do the KMD first, but I kind of got side tracked and polished VS 2.0 first, which is probably better to do that first anyway.

Good work on the GUI! I really like what I can see of it! I think the grey color you used is a good option. You may just want to give a few different colors for the user to choose from. Maybe a nice blue color, but i'm not sure what else. I will look around the net for some samples.

    Hi Dan,
The new UI is very easy to read now, great improvement!

I have a question, the bugs fixes from the betas, are those implemented to the final release version of VS 2.0?

Reason I ask is, on all the betas I've tested since 2.0, VS will not start randomly (don't know the cause) and prompts me to reboot, and if issue continues, to un-install and re-install. This has happened on betas 2.13 and 2.14 (the mythical beta) :)

When I was using VS 2.0, that issue was not present. And yes I do have Malwarebytes Free which doesn't play nice with VS according to previous posts.

Also have Hitmanpro, TDSSKiller, Avast Free, and Privetefirewall. Running Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

PS, noticed that VS service is running in task manager, but Gadget and tray icon are missing. After a few minutes get a prompt stating "VS service cannot connect to server".

    Hope this helps.

Oh and anything related to VS is allowed in Privatefirewall btw :)

    Best regards,

I'm not Dan of course, but in Dan's post above he said he is still working on the startup issue. He said he thinks he is close to having it fixed. My apologies if i'm misunderstanding your question. I'm sure Dan will be by shortly to answer as well.

LUV IT ~ Looks like the new CCleaner....it is really COOL ~~ KUDOS
Excited to hear Vista UAC was on your plate and thrilled to hear SBoxie may communicate DOUBLE KUDOS
At some point an eye on malicious browser extensions and vulnerable plugins. You know web facing stuff :D
Maybe re-think the desktop shortcut. Mine won't open VS. I have to restart to bring back VS

No problem at all CET, you can chime in anytime. I've read a good amount of pages from this thread and your input is really informative.

I was just wondering if the fixes introduced in 2.13 beta were also implemented to 2.12 which now has EYE Candy! LOL

Who doesn't love eye candy?!?! ;)

I'm not sure. I upgraded from 2.12 to 2.13, but I don't remember what changes were made. I will check my email, and see if Dan listed any.

Dan did not list the changes made when he sent me the link for 2.13. I'm not really sure.

I like the native arial blue in Windows 7, and I also like the blue at the one o'clock position in this image.

Edit: Maybe the blue at the 2 o'clock position would look good as well. I'm actually kind of thinking of a color in between. I'm looking for a more glossy blue. When I find a good example I will post it.

Great work Dan! VS's new GUI looks really nice! It is similar to Online Armor which in my opinion has the best GUI out of all the security applications I have ever used. OA does not have the eye candy, but it is ingeniously thought out. I hope VS continues to follow a similar scheme.

Like your new UI design very much.

A couple of comments re the text.

"toggles with" should just be "toggles" or change to "protect(s)".

Drop the Initial Caps in The main Sentence and make it Just sentence case.;)

Hi Dan - like the new look GUI - looks much more mainstream.

On the non starting of VS when the connection was down - you produced VS 2.14 (if you remember :) ) to solve it. I have been trying that version and fault still happens with that one
