Soon I am going to need to install a few Virtual machines (to test different versions of internet explorer), in Intrepid I used Virtualbox as it was in the repo and it worked fine so did not try VMWare.

This time round I had a quick scan of the ubuntu forums and noted quite a few reports of problems with various editions of VMware in 9.04 - has anyone got VMWare working using 9.04 as the host ?

If not I will just use Virtualbox again.

I have not tried yet as I don't use 9.04 on production machines ... yet.
Secondly, I did have issues with getting VMware Server to run on Ubuntu, since 7.10, sometimes needed this and that, sometimes the any-any patch and could not get the 32-bit version running on the 32-bit 8.10.

However, I never had problems running VMware Server on openSUSE. Smooth as milk. Likewise, VirtualBox, no issues on Ubuntu whatsoever.
