Does anyone know if VmWare Converter can be used to convert Acronis backup images to a virtual machine? I have done it before with Shadow Protect images, but if i remember correctly i tried to in the past with Acronis images and failed. I have an Acronis backup image that I would like to use to run some test with in VmWare.

Don't know about VmWare Converter, but some Acronis products offer built-in Virtualization support, so maybe one of them could convert your tib-file too? I haven't tried it, but the version I use advertises the following feature:

    link: http://www.acronis.com/backup-recovery/workstation/features.html

You could download the trial version and see if it lets you convert tib-files to virtual disks during the trial period.
