    I just tried to download the VLC installer for my laptop (earlier today everything went well with my desktop), I was using Iron. The screen froze & I had to reboot. This happened in Chrome as well. Furthermore Iron eventually fired up with its theme & extensions missing (my bookmarks are fine). It worked with Firefox 4. I have no idea what happened. I am just about to scan for malware.

    meh. Smplayer is so much better. If u try pressing the VLC seek bar on different positions of the videos, it's choppy and most of the time the video stops playing. VLC is overrated.
