VLC - How wierd !

    I hadn't used VLC for some weeks, until yesterday. Immediately i launched a video, & just before it started to play, i was presented with the VLC logo as usual, but with a Santa's hat on it ?

    They only appear like that in VLC, not on my desktop or in folders etc. I tried different formats, & ALL appeared as above ! VLC is not set to autoupdate, & i havn't updated it for some time.

    My FW is set to ask VLC for permission out, & it hasn't for months.

    So the questions are,

    1 - How does my VLC know it's Christmas & able to change it's logo to reflect that ?

    2 - Has anybody else noticed this ?

    3 - If so when it start to happen ?

    I just checked it and when I launch a video with VLC, it doesn't show their logo at all, once VLC launches it stays black for a split-second and then starts playing the video. Btw, why would it need network access if it can look at the computer clock? :D

    my has the hat too, i think it does not have it if you open a file directly

    Clock = Ahhhhh of course :oops: Thanks :thumb: If i'd known that before it would have saved me spending the last two hours doing 345 virus scans ! Only kidding :D Wonder what's wrong with your clock with the no show ? :D

    Amazing how a santa hat on a video player will start an argument over religion (referring to the VLC forum post) :rolleyes: Anyway, yeah I wondered about it too. That plus now the player takes up half the monitor when it first opens.

    I remember it last year as well, it's just weird since I haven't updated the program in a while (I'm starting to lean more towards MPC-Cinema with K-Lite).
