Could anyone advise a good SAFE download link for Vista's Codec Package? I google it and there are so many available. Thanks in advance for any tip.

This is (and always has been) the official website of the Vista Codec Package: http://shark007.net/

While we're talking about codecs, I suggest you take a look at Combined Community Codec Pack. IMHO, it is the best codec pack available, though your mileage may vary.

I've read somewhere that downloading codec from the wrong site could be inviting malware. Thank you both for the replies.

I second CCCP, but I myself use K-Lite Codec Pack.
I already configured and figured out everything regarding multimedia viewing and editing on my PC and I don't want to go through that again, besides everything is working like it should.
