Viruses: The First Ten Years

    I ran across this today and I thought it would be interesting to others. It is a brief history about viruses that was written back in '96.

    Also interesting is the list of AV vendors back in '90. I only recognized a couple of names on the list. Though I have been online since '94 (anyone remember Tandy's PC-Link service?) I didn't start using an AV until 2000 after I stupidly opened a .vbs script which began to erase my hard drive. My first AV was CA's EZ-Trust if I remember correctly.

    Well the "Elk Cloner" virus, came out in 1982, (4 years before the first virus the author has in his list) and was probably the first computer virus ever.
