I have a drive which is perhaps infected. Is it safe to put it in an external drive enclosure and scan it from another machine, with anti-virus and anti-trojan software? Might the thing migrate to the clean machine?

    (I run W98SE, NOD, Sygate, Spywareblaster/Spybot/Adaware.)

Would it be safer to scan if from a W2000 machine, what with the infected drive not being able to read "up" to W2000, or would that not be a barrier to malware?

    Thank you. :doubt:
