Checked Control Panel > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials > Generic Credentials and found a set of login credentials called the following:

    Internet or Network Address: virtualapp/didlogical
Username: <I've removed it for privacy reasons>
    Password: <Password is Hidden>
    Persistence: Local Computer

I've tried deleting it. It reappears every time I restart the computer.

Can anyone explain how this got here and how to permanently remove it from the computer?

It's a security liability if nothing else.

That thread isn't very forthcoming with answers.

Also, there seems to be a lot of suspicion about this credential, and how it can be exploited with network-facing services to gain control of remote machines.

How do I find out what the password to the credential is?

How do I permanently remove the credential (clicking 'remove' causes it to reappear at next system restart)?

Also, no one seems to supply any supporting evidence as to what it actually does. Just a series of statements about it with no real official sources.
