Views column?

    This is probably a dumbo question from a newcomer - but I can't find anything in the FAQ's or forum usage on it.
    What does the 'Views' column figure represent? Is this to do with how many people view a post - or what? o_O

    Edit: OK - the reason I asked the question was I noted the number of views in several posts - checked the posts - closed browser - came back and rechecked the posts but views were still the same. So I was mystified as to what 'views' meant. Now I've returned an hour later and I see the number of views have changed after all! DoH.!!
