Well, since there was no option for remaining with xp/vista, I chose the last one. I plan to stick with XP as long as possible, and once I finally move to vista I'll probably stick with it as long as possible.

I don't anyone actually read the article ...from the dumb replies here, that is what I gather. Read the article and you will understand exactly why there will be a new Windows in 2009 and exactly what that means.

I will be getting Vienna (if there is not too much DRM and DRM is going to die by then I believe). 2009 will be when this computer is 3-3.5 years old and out of warranty so I will be ready for another computer about then and if the new file system is in Vienna as promised then that is exactly what I have been waiting for...I have no interest in Vista plus this Dell XPS 600 (and the current XPS 700) are not upgradeable even though Dell has said they both were and sold the 700 in December with the upgrade coupon. No one can upgrade though as the computer will not boot. Dell has admitted the problem but says they have no understanding of why these computers cannot be upgraded...so, glad I am not interested in Vista. Vienna is Blackcomb as far as I can see and that is the one I have been waiting for...of course, Microsoft may water it down and it won't have the new file system either...but I will be watching to see how it progresses and I will get it if it has the new file system and DRM has been defeated or considerably watered down and limited.

Will Vienna be a completely new OS, or more like a Vista Service Pack? I did read that it will have native support for virtualization, sounds exciting. Not sure if WinFS is all that, but yes it´s likely that I will upgrade to Vienna in 2010, until that time I probably stay with XP, but I might also upgrade to Vista SP1. ;)
