My Radeon HD 5870 went belly up after 3 years of hard use. I found an older card in my closet. I figured I would use it until I ordered another high end card. However, I can not tell any difference in performance and I believe the images are a little bit clearer. The older card? It's a Radeon 4850 with 512 GDDR 3 mem chips. Now I'm not talking about performance in casual games like Bejeweled. But games like Metro 2033, Fallout 3 & New Vegas, Gothic 3, Arcania, Risen, Civilization V, and even the new Homefront. I use a 1680x1050 flat screen and that is probably the reason the old card works so well. I guess the GTX 570 will have to wait for now.

Umm, okay. 2 years, 7 months. I guess one could round up to 3 years o_O But, for the bean counters out there it's 31 months :D .

I have an Alienware Aurora with a I7 920 (2.67 Ghz) with 6 gb DDR3 ram. It was one of the first ones made and sold. I received a sales notice from Dell that allowed me to pre-order this computer with a 2 year warranty. So, I did.

    Peace,
