How can VB say that the averages are for period between Dec 2010 and June 2011 when some products have participated only recently? A new product with a good licensed engine may have a higher average due to recent improvements in the licensed engine whereas a product participating from June 2010 may have less average detection on the whole even though it has improved its performance lately. Or am I interpreting it the wrong wayo_O

Is the same in AV-C: some vendors decided to participate at a later stage in WPDT

a recent participating product will have little opportunities of scoring good, because it did not participated in previous tests

how the free product for the same vendor is scoring better than the paid product?
Please take into account the product participations, too

Sure a new product will have less time to improve its detections. But what if it has licensed its engine from established brand? It will be showing good detections straightway. Unlike AV-C which provides month wise detections for WPDT VB RAP provides average for the whole period of testing. Suppose the new product has over 90% detections in the test is Virus Bulletin takes it as average for previous months too without including it in earlier tests?
