I noticed that PG blocked various programs to read winlogon.exe ( ad-aware.exe, spybotsd.exe, update.exe). While I cannot say that I noticed any effect, do these programs require access to read winlogon.exe? Should I create special rules for them?
Why do programs in general need to read winlogon.exe and why is the default to block?
Sorry about this list of questions:oops:

Thanks Quest, I forgot about this link

Anyone re the other questions. As these are legal programs trying to read winlogon.exe, I suspect they have a reason for that. Am I interfering in their working by not allowing them to read winlogon.exe?

    Hi, beethoven

I would say not, because you would be getting either an Error box or DrWatson saying something, you could also check the Event Viewer to see if there are any errors relating to those programs.
