Has this problem been fixed? If not, is there a work around besides disabling web protection?
    .....................................
    So v3 worked fine.

In Windows Vista SP1, SP2 and Win7 RC my ping time, which averages 17ms on the test server, jumps to 500ms+!

So when I looked around I read Web Access Protection has something to do with it. It said to check the boxes only for programs I want it to check. Well, NONE of them were checked in the first place.

With Web Access Protection disabled everything is fine. Re-enable it and back to a 1/2 second ping.

I'm currently using the trial version (4.0.314.0) and I see there's been updates since then.

If it has been fixed Eset needs to update the trial version 'cause there's no way I would buy this right now.

This really sucks because I'm running Win7 permanently now and can't go back to v3 (and I almost renewed my license too, dodged a bullet it seems right now).

    Thanks :)

Edit: P.S. I'm using just the antivirus, not the suite.
Edit2: Forgot to mention, I'm using the 64-bit versions of Vista and Win7

    What are you pinging?

    C:\Users\Jim>ping -t news.bbc.co.uk

Pinging newswww.bbc.net.uk [212.58.226.77] with 32 bytes of data:

Anything... net, games, email... adds (what appears to be) 500ms to everything.

I don't recall seeing others with this issue, and I don't see it on the 60-odd systems I'm managing. Could there be a conflict with some other software you have? Do you have a software firewall installed?

Neither can i remember that i ever heard anyone else with this problem and odd that the "Web Access Protection" should cause such a problem since the "Web Access Protection" doesn't scan the ICMP protocol as far as i'm aware of.
Maybe it could have something do with a conflict like jimwillsher already suggested. Do you use wireless or a cable to connect your computer to your LAN? And do you see the same result when using wireless and cable (if the computer got a wireless adapter)?
