-Added ability for RegDefend to still protect system when the GUI is closed down

Is there some place to turn this new feature ON and OFF?

No not at the moment. However if you don't load RegDefend on a particular boot, it's driver won't be active and it effectively is turning it off. RegDefend loads it's driver when the GUI is started the first time, so if you don't load RegDefend the driver won't be active.

I guess it might be good to provide a protection enable/disable menu item in a future version?

    IMHO, yes.

Thanks much for the explanation as to how it currently works. I thought perhaps I needed to get my glasses changed when I couldn't locate the ON/OFF switch. :D

And while you are adding "options" like that it might be nice to be able to have options to have the driver loaded "prior" to the startup race and optionally also have it loaded in safe mode

Even though not too many people would actually tick the option to have the driver loaded in safe mode it would be useful for those of us who opt to be more paranoid

Of course we would only tick the option once we were sure that the driver was good and stable with the local hardware software and patches...
It would be caveat emptor for those who use the option, and/or maybe a prompt with a short countdown to avoid the driver loading in safe mode

Here's an example of why I strongly urge that an ON/OFF switch be provided.

This A.M. I started the installation of a program upgrade (Pgm XXX). Because of the nature of the affected program, I closed down all my running programs, disabled ProcessGuard, disabled my anti virus scanner, and closed down RegDefend.

As the upgrade installation progressed, I started getting errors stating that required changes to the registry could not be made. It took me awhile and three attempts to get the upgrade installed before it DAWNED on me that Regdefend was in fact still active and blocking the registry changes. Once I rebooted without starting up RegDefend, the upgrade went right on through.

    Just some feedback ;)
