i made this apps, .. if needed source code is avaiable

and.. if dubius.. use it in a VM/sandbox (but i can assure that are virus free)

I dont quite understand the point,

whats wrong with going to www.freedrweb.com and getting it yourself?

 

no need to go url, to search for link, to click the link, to save to folder...

just double click on exe and let the download start...

The Cureit downloader can either download cureit.exe or drweb-cureit.exe. How about the AVP downloader? At the Kaspersky ftp site there are a lot of builds, so how do you know the latest build is downloaded? Does it download the last (lowest) build by default? Also, are the scanners saved (by the default) in the same location as the downloaders? Is it possible to edit the save location using commands (command prompt)?

I agree. We are not sure if that downloader gets the scanner from the developer's site. The downloaded scanner might be corrupted/modified or bundled with malware.

It's safer to download from the developer's site or trusted download sites like MajorGeeks.

A smart file manager would do this also,with one click.

 

but seeing as cureit needs no installation, no folders are needed anyway.

save to desktop and run the file, i see no need for this un-official approach.

users should always use www.freedrweb.com

Personnaly, I can see the use in such a tool. With one click you get the file instead of having to open the browser, go to the web site, click a link, accept the download. It can be more efficient. But I also see the risk in running a tool from an unknown source, which is why I think I'll write one to put in my toolbox. Thanks for the idea buzzqw

 

if you use a download manager,

just save ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/cureit.exe as a favourite of yours within the download manager, if pasting the link address into your browser is too much hard work

but lets face it, you will already be using a browser anyway, ....

 

don't want to diffuse any unknow/riskware files, sorry to all. My only idea was to have a simply application that download these files.
I have a folder where i store standalone scanner, and use these [removed] tiny utils to download the latest one.

anyway i agree with BlueZannetti and C.S.J to remove these links

and i have done the same for downloading kaspersky daily/weekly/cumulative zip (and started the same for avira.. for scheduling update). But don't warry, i will not post it
