    Hello,

I am Trialling the File-server for my company and want to use this server as Mirror server for our local LAN.

I belive I have setup the File server right but I cant figure out a way for my local copy of NOD32 to update from our File server. Its a clean installation of Debian used for testing purposes.

What I done so far is to make a website which host the files in the mirror dir and a SMB share hosting those files. Then I pointed my NOD32 to (one of) those locations. NOD32 client connect properly to the mirror location and it does work (It reads update.ver) BUT it aint updating. It says it is up-to-date, but it is not.
Local copy of NOD32 signature base = 2945 which shouldnt be the latest..
Date stamps of a few database files of update.ver are later then 2945 date. So I guess that is working properly.

I also tried copying the modules (nod32.000 nod32.002 nod32.003 nod32.004 nod32.005 nod32.006 nod32.007) of the BASEDIR to the MIRROR dir, but the client keeps telling it is up to date.

I cant find much information about this issue on the support pages. MAN pages of esets_update and manual of the file server did not help with this issue either.
What am I doing wrong here?

    ==Few configs settings==

    Parameters from eset.cfg
    # add_mod = "mod1:mod2:..."
    # List of ESETS component modules to be mirrored from ESET server.
    add_mod = "help:utilmod:charon:pwscan:archs:advheur:engine"

    Am I missing something here?

The mirror location itself is working.
    - 071-1-168-192:~# esets_update --mirror
    - Start mirror process
    - Checking remote update packages at 'u37.eset.com'... ok / 3k (100%)
    - Checking local update packages in '/var/lib/esets/mirror/'... ok (18 nups found).
    - Local copy is up to date.
    - Mirror process done

    - 071-1-168-192:~# esets_update --compile
    - Start compile process
    - Dump modules version information
    - Advanced heuristics - installed: 1070(1171), available: 1070(1171)
    - helper - installed: 1002(1002), available: 1002(1002)
    - Archive support - installed: 1068(1210), available: 1068(1210)
    - charon - installed: 1.009(1047), available: 1.009(1047)
    - pwscan - installed: 1.001(1012), available: 1.001(1012)
    - utilmod - installed: 1.120(1224), available: 1.120(1224)
    - Virus signature database - installed: 3036(12463), available: 3036(12463)
    - Your ESET Security system is already up-to-date
    - Compile process done

    Files found in the mirror location are: - advheur0.nup archs0.nup archs2.nup charon1.nup engine0.nup engine2.nup hosts.txt pwscan1.nup update.ver utilmod1.nup
    advheur1.nup archs1.nup charon0.nup charon2.nup engine1.nup helper0.nup pwscan0.nup pwscan2.nup utilmod0.nup utilmod2.nup -

Thanks for the help in advance. :)

Hopefully this imho bug will be fixed asop... perhaps it is realy hard on a package based distribution to set up V3 and V2...

Do you mean that you are testing the beta version 3.0.1 of ESET File Security which is the only one that supports mirror for v3 clients?

Ah no what I ment was that I am using V3 as NOD32 AV client, using the latest stable (2.71.12) as file server. So that is the whole issue? V2 cant update V3..

I will try to get the beta of the fileserver tomorrow to see how that goes. Else we just gonna use the V2 NOD32 AV client.

This clears thing up :) Thanks.
