The site says it was updated 12-04. The last update in "news" was June of 2003! It discusses no alternatives to IE and is basically, a worthless site. Too many things have happened concerning security issues in almost 2 years. The only update really needed now is a button to download Firefox.

Yes, that is a good idea to dl Firefox. Agreed.
But what about the many people that are (still) hesitant to do so, for whatever reasons ?

Is there another site for IE, that is kept updated ?

A quote from the article above

I'm tired of vulnerabilities in Microsoft's Web browser that take over computers, install spyware and God knows what else, and ultimately cause us to spend hours cleaning up messes on the computers of clients, friends, and family. How much money, time, and energy have we all spent fixing the problems caused by IE? It's time for security pros - the folks that should know better - to start dumping IE and start promoting Firefox, a better Web browser. Enough is enough. How many times are we going to put out the fires that IE starts, only to get stomped on, again and again?

No matter which way you think in regard to browsers, let's not have a browser war here.
The original post concerns securing IE and appears to have good info for people looking for help.
    Thanks for your help.

huh? If you can't discuss it in a thread like this, where can it be discussed? Of course it should be discussed here. It doesn't have to be a browser "war". As other posters noted, new people are arriving at Wilders and they should read about Firefox. Those using IE and looking in this thread should hear about Firefox. Ron, don't nanny the site to death!

If you want to discuss the advantages of firefox feel free to post a new thread in software and services but this thread was and is about Internet explorer.

For Info regarding "securing" IE or any other browser for that matter. Outstanding Info can be gained at Eric Howes' Privacy & Security Page ... Eric is well respected in the security sector, as many of you already know, so I won't list his credentials ... but this site is truely a great resource for all things security related. Definitely one to bookmark. ;)

The Secunia page for Internet Explorer 6.x should be worth bookmarking also for details of current and past vulnerabilities. Links to patches are included and where no patch exists, there is usually information on workarounds (though "use another browser" is one that is appearing more frequently).
