Usb devices presents several problems to TI ... there are some workarounds, but you will have to search the topics to find them. Check the FAQs or the Stickies at the top of all the topics.

I had an issue with the mouse/keyboard freezing that was resolved very recently with the help of Acronis technical support. The thread was started by myself. It began:- "Does anyone know where disable USB legacy support is in the bios?"

If you read down the thread the question re the mouse and keyboard "freezing" came up. Although the tech support solution worked for me, I am unsure if it would work for everyone else...

    thanks zoril & Chutsman

    but

USB Key with TrueImage Home 9.1

    Start Pc waiting for

"Starting Acronis loader...". --> Press f11 key

now in the f11 windows I have tested all of your Tips & Tricks but not working

    Boot 1) quiet usbmouse=off
    Boot 2) quiet acpi=off noapic
    Boot 3) usbmouse=off
    Boot 4) quiet nousb1

and soo much but my usbkey is not visible for loading tib file

    my minimum purpose is

work with usbkey for boot and for tib file
    work only with keyboard
but mouse is usb and i can't disconect

if the tib file is on the secondary hd all work fine

    acronis loader work fine

is only invisible usbkey at the end of boot process

maybe a complete documentation of the "bootwiz.cfg" help to create a selectable fine process.
maybe a complete log of startup process help support for define the problem ?
If yes how I can save the log ?

    ciao, beppe

    Hi there:)

They are definitely not my tips hehe. I would not advise anyone on anything to do with computers. My knowledge of either computers or windows is very limited.

In that thread I stated - "Please don't take this post in anyway as advice. As most of you will realise I have a very limited knowledge of computers or Windows. I felt it only fair to finish writing this thread based on what was suggested for me to try by technical support. It may well be that someone else with a different computer or configuration experiencing a similar problem would need to try something different".

I would strongly suggest submitting a request to technical support telling them what you have tried to do. They may have several suggestions which hopefully will resolve your problem.

I hope that you get the problem sorted out....

    Hello Beppe,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Could you please boot your computer from the Acronis True Image rescue disc and press F11 key when the selection screen message appears? After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please remove the word "quiet", click on the "OK" button and wait for # prompt to appear. Please insert a diskette into a floppy disk drive and issue the following commands:

    cd tmp
    mkdir mntdir
    mount /devfs/floppy/0 mntdir
    cat /proc/bus/usb/devices > mntdir/usb.txt
    umount mntdir

Collect the usb.txt file from the diskette.

Please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
