Hi, just need to know if I can do a backup with True Image, then reformat my hard drive, install Windows Vista Ultimate and then if I decide I can't live with Vista, can I use the True Image backup to restore back to XP??

    Thank you!

    Yes.

Just make sure you verify the image of XP from the recovery CD before you install Vista.

Make the bootable Rescue CD from the menu in the True Image software and make sure that when it boots it can see the drive where you plan to save the backup XP image.

Why not just buy another hard drive for your Vista install?

"Seeing" is not enough. It is important to also verify from the rescue CD. I have had cases where the rescue CD can see the disk but it fails to verify (or restore) a good image which verifies and restores from Windows.
