I was wondering if anyone knows if using the command line switch to update a2cmd.exe will work correctly with Emsisoft Anti-Malware? For instance if I update using this way, will the program see the updates or is a2cmd.exe just a standalone scanner? I updated the command line way and the gui does not show that it was updated other than when updated through the gui. So I'm not sure if it is updated but doesn't display it or if a2cmd.exe is simply for command line scanning only.

I tried to update with a2cmd.exe and the /u switch, it does indeed update the signatures but this doesn't show in the GUI.

Maybe something to mention in the Emsisoft AM forum ?

This won't work as we don't want users to build their own auto-update to get around the freeware limitations. The command line scanner will update your installation but all running EAM components will continue to use the old signatures until you issue an update through the GUI to cause a signature reload as well.

    Funny you mention that.....
I just purchased EAM anyways. It looks like a really nice product.
