Interesting app, it´s how Secunia Software Inspector should have been, and it comes with an uninstaller, but the problem is that I don´t know the company, and trust is important, especially with these kind of apps. ;)

Unimpressed. It found one update and that was for a different program than I had (I use the freeware MP3tag.)

Now this sounds like it could be good.

Hi, Right-click the icon in the system tray and choose close. To make sure it closed go to the Task Manager (press ctrl-alt-delete once) and make sure UpdateStar.exe is not there. If it is the right-click it and choose End Process. After that, then go to the Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs and choose Remove. I'm not sure of how completely this removes the program or if it is a safe program to begin with.

I did upload the file to VirusTotal and only 1 of 32 scanners found something. It was Prevxs heuristics and it couldn't give details because they may have contained personal information. I did scan the program after downloading with Avira AntiVir, A-squared Anti-malware and SuperAntiSpyware with no results.

If someone else is familiar with this program then please chime in :).

    I found the uninstaller.
It was in the "Add/Remove Programs" area.
Its icon is a regular Windows Explorer "File Folder" icon.
I couldn't find an install log, but it seemed to uninstall okay.
I'll clean up my computer just in case, though.
    Thanks, innerpeace and Huupi.
