Updates messed things up. What should I do?

    So there were eight important updates and I also selected a Net framework and a x64 optional. After restarts it freezes at 42%. I didn't have to use any of my backups as safe mode automatically reverted the changes. Should I just install one at a time? Thank you!

    I usually just try again. If it still fails then try other things.

    Thanks for the reply. I did try the second time (that is why I used the plural "freeze(s)) and the same thing happened.

    Try one at a time, works for me sometimes.

    I had to restore from an image, because Windows wouldn't boot in any mode after I hard shutdown a stuck update.

    From my experience, one at a time works better, but isn't usually necessary. Don't select anything they haven't auto-chosen for you until those are the only ones left.

    I always install .net framework updates on their own.
