I had a fresh Image made by Macrium, from an SSD. I decided to upgrade to a larger, (NVMe) The one made by Western Digital, instead of Samsung.

I tried to restore the Image to the new drive, and it would blue screen every time. If I restored to a SSD, it worked just fine, and if I did a clean install to the W.D. NVMe it worked fine.

But I didn't want to have to reinstall ALL my software, so I cloned the SSD to NVMe using Macrium. That worked.

Now I needed to make an image of the New NVMe, with the NVMe being the source, I made sure in Macrium to choose "Create an image of the partitions required to backup and restore Windows"...

That worked for me...Tested the Images, all is fine.

    MBR or UEFI system?

What did you do with the Windows OS on the SSD? The SSD you cloned.

I wondered if you still have that original OS on the SSD.
