Update information is not consistent

WinXP SP2, ESET ISS 4.0.437.0

Been working great for months. Now get a an error message on Update = Update information is not consistent. Another system running a diff version updated from 4978 to 4980 without a problem - version 4 will not. Both systems are on the same network and both working in all areas of connectability. I ran repair - no change. I don't want to have to reinstall if at all possible as I have it running with Automatic Mode with Exceptions (user defined). If there is a way to export the my current setting, I would be more inclined to do a reinstall. Any ideas on the reason for the error?

Does clearing the update cache on that client help?

Not sure which ESET files which to keep and which to delete. The ones in ...All Users\Applications\ESET\

I think Marcos mean in the GUI of ESS the interface.

It's a section called (Update) in the options tree. Where your username and pass is located.

And after you have pushed the update tab you will see a Clear update cache button, push it and the your done.

 

These will make it easier to find!
