I attempted to do a manual update and received this error message

" Error occurred while updating program modules ( Cannot replace the current file, check the system TEMP and TMP variables)

    version 1964 ( 20070109 )

What are the system TEMP and TMP variables, where do i find them, and how do i check them ?

After trying the advice Balckspear pointed me at without success, two uninstalls and reinstalls with an equal lack of success, i finally in desperation tried the simple idea. I looked in c:\windows\temp.

I must have deleted it in an excess of cleaning zeal. I right clicked, created a folder and named it "TEMP" and poof, within seconds a had a "update successful" ballon. Now i just have to find where to turn those balloons off.
