I'm currently looking for a firewall and HIPS for Win 8.

Outpost seems to have some interesting features, the GUI could use some work though. :)

    I like this GUI.
    Simple, effective, uncluttered.
    Great firewall.

I may have to try 9.1 since I have a lifetime license for 3 computers. 9.0 had to many popups for my liking and I wasnt sure about the effectiveness of the antivirus but I did like the interface and the settings to block critical system changes.

I also intend to see if they have updated their rescue disc since last time i tried it the update function didn't work.

While I'm not loosing any sleep over the packets to M$ in the block all mode, I, too, am interested in the resolution of this long debated issue.

as stated before ad nauseum in the threads, outpost loads early in the boot process and any so-called leakage supposedly seen by the original poster is not significant or of any concern. there may be some whose OCD continues to make them post lengthy contradicory information. if it bothers you, you are free to use other competative software. continued unfounded attacks on outpost is not helpful or fair.

Used for years with Avira. Sadly I am unable to do that anymore because of incompatable software warnings. Top notch firewall.

    First install Outpost then Avira.
Ignore the Avira warning and you should be able to continue installation.

That is how I used to do it. Now it does not work, not able to continue. I tried both ways Outpost first and Avira first.

I'm not complaining. And when, in post#15,I wrote "resolution" I should have written "explanation". I'm interested in what makes that one silly connection, and not at all worried about Outpost's protection which is just fine for me.

    What is OCD?

I agree with your question, would like to get to get a rational answer.

OCD, not a very helpful answer for people that want to learn about firewalls, or anything else.

What if you list your AV and Outpost on each others Exceptions?

Or maybe Agnitum should fix their software ,so it works as intended, instead of flaming users around such forum.

It seems that user feedback has no importance what so ever for this Russian company

Such issue combined with DEFAULT settings of this software ,as in going for Allowed Most in Enterteinment Mode ,makes a PC featuring this firewall prone to leak connections all over.

We can all use the default FREE firewall from Windows to obtain better network protection than this ,without hundreds of useless questions per minute.

This was a security software if i am not mistaking and not some android app that looks nice and tidy.

Something is not working properly in this software and company engineers should look into it.Policies are not loaded properly or something.

It s last time i post something about this so called firewall as it seems nobody gives a d... about user feedback.

I had a lot of respect for this software for what it was back in the day ,but the way kronckew is treating this subject is simply strange.Maybe you should let beta testing for some other people mate.
