Hi, I have searched in the forum about the new unpacking feature (new since the last version I have trialled) and teh help file isn't really detailed about this. From another post, NOD32 supports now at least "Pklite, Lzexe, Diet, Exepack, CPAV, UPX, AsPack, FSG, Petite, Neolite." Does it support other now ? (the info is dated from May 2004) Does the problem that was mentioned there is one year about AMON not being able to automaticaly unpack the packed executables whereas the scanner was able to has been fixed since ? regards, gkweb.
Hi gkweb: Yes, now AMON has packer/unpacker capabilities that were not previously present. See screenshot here: AMON settings There are a few more packer and archive types supported. Virus detection in compressed or protected executable files, such as UPX, AsPack, FSG, Petite, Neolite, ExeStealth, yoda's Crypter, PECompact, Pklite, Lzexe, Diet, Exepack, CPAV . Support of many archive formats, e.g. ZIP, RAR, ARJ, LZH, LHA, CAB, CHM, TAR, GZIP.
