    Dear Acronis Support,

How can I get a working TI Enterprise Server 9.1, last build + universal restore "plug in" for the supported Bart PE Inviroment?

    Facts:

The Linux based rescue media works fine.

The Aronis standard "Plug in" and all other plugin´s does not work.

To archive the goals for a enterprise network desaster recovery solution,
a working "plug in" for the Bart PE inviroment is necessarily.

    Thanx for your help :thumb:

    Hi,

Install full version of Acronis to a machine.

Download Mustang's Plugin, unzip, and launch get lic.bat.

    It's done!

    Sorry you are right.

The problem is RPC unavailable error?
Or the fact that UR doesnt work as wanted under BartPE/Reatogo environment?

Hope it will be solved soon, because I, as a consultant, often recommend to use Acronis for Disaster Recovery Images, coupled with Virtualization in Virtual Server, if it doesnt work it wont be good at all.

Please Acronis Give us a solution, or a BartPE plugin that works FULLY, or a UR version that works the same as the Rescue CD one!

    hi jaycee,

no plugin in a windows pe enviroment like BartPE/Reatogo or the original "Microsoft Pre Installation Enviroment" provide the same results as the linux based rescue media. Thats the real problem, not the RPC discussion.

    summary:

1.) Universal Restore with Linux based Rescue Media => successfuly
2.) Universal Restore with Plugin´s for Bart PE, Regato and all others e.g Mustangs => not successfuly
3.) Universal Restore with "Acronis WinPE Iso Builder" => not successfuly

    Hello Unimatrix,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Remote Server Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

I'm afraid that BartPE plug-in for Acronis True Image 9.1 which is included into the installation file does not support Acronis Universal Restore. It will be probably implemented in the future builds/versions of the software.

However, the Acronis Universal Restore add-on to Acronis True Image 9.1 (Corporate versions), if installed, will be included in the Win PE ISO image.

Could you please describe the issue in more details? What exactly did you try to perform? Did you receive any error messages? Please explain your step-by-step actions which you took that led you to this error.

    Thank you.

    Hello Aleksandr,
    thank you for the answer.

    Here the steps for WinPE:

1.) Build the WinPE Iso with "Acronis WinPE Iso Builder"
2.) Burn the iso as cd
3.) Boot the target hardware with the cd
4.) wait for starting the TI application
5.) browse the Network for the image
    6.) select the image
    7.) select the partition
8.) restore the image with the Universal Restore option
    9.) see 2 tasks, first " restore drive C...", second " Universal Restore ..."
10.) wait for about 20 min
11.) Get success message, ( really no errors )
    12.) klick "OK"
    13.) close TI application
14.) write to the open CMD "exit"
    15.) System reboots
16.) the restored windows 2000 server hangs on boot at dcdbas32.sys

    There no error messages !!!

If i do the restore steps ( 5 -12 ) under BartPE i get the 100% same result, with all tested plugins.
The restored windows 2000 server hangs on boot at dcdbas32.sys

If do the same restore steps (5 -12) with the Linux based Rescue Media i get a 100% booting and later working windows 2000 server system.

    Thanx for help :thumb:

    Hello together,

after analyzing the problem, i found that the hall is not the correct for the target hardware.

Is not a problem with dcdbas32.sys.

The Universal Restore Option does not work for 100% in a WinPE enviromente.

Create a new thread with a detailed Bugreport.

Luckily Microsoft decided FINALLY to change the HAL process, in Vista you will have an HAL autodetect on bootup, and not one different (or almost) per installation :

one for uniproc x32, one for multiproc x32, one for x64, one for multi x64.....

Hope it goes the way it should!
