I downloaded the free mwave which seems to work real well. But it is a little over agressive to be ran at every reboot. Is there some way to uninstall it?

Are you talking about mwave AV by escan? I use it for on demand only. I may have a different\older vers. then you but mine does have the option to\not to run at start up. As far as uninstalling you should be able to just delete the folder.

Yes, the mwave scanner from Microworld. It looks like it would be a fantastic on-demand scanner, being powered by kaspersky. But I cannot find an option for mwave not to run on reboot. And it removes all my internet settings- homepage, cookies for favorite sites, etc.

Running 1.0.0.1 Not sure of the latest vers. Just know it still updates. You are right, very nice as an on demand. I use Ewido-micro for back-up as well with Nod32 full time. Sorry I can not be of further assistance.

You can use another program such as Sysinternals AutoRuns or Winpatrol to disable it from running at reboot. Or, as said previously, you can just delete the folder, as it isn't installed on the system, just runs in the temp files. While it uses the Kaspersky engine, I found it to be pretty unreliable as compated to the actual Kaspersky AV. It found a lot of false positives and deleted system files without providing me an option in the matter. I got fed up with it and quit using it. Personally, I can't believe what they charge for this thing now. Actual KAV or NOD32 beat it hands down.
