Uninstalled CCleaner due to lost trust. Looking for a replacement, any advice?

How about PrivaZer, Wise Disk Cleaner or Clean Master? Personal feedback is welcome, thanks!

 

Clean Master has not been updated since 2014 and I have had some issues with it on 10, obviously.
I call Privazer, disk destroyer. It does not clean more than any other cleaner, but it takes hours to scan.
Wise Disk Cleaner, I use it as part of Wise care for years, never had a single issue with it, alongside CCleaner.

DiskMax cleans automatically (it does not show, what it cleans), it defragments as well, I would not really pick this one.

Clean Space found only 338 kB after using CCleaner + Wise, but it is very informative and it has found some privacy related data, it might be a good and faster replacement for Privazer.

 

Clean Master works well for me under Windows 10. The registry cleaner has very minor issues with false positives. But it's easy to stop it from cleaning the registry. You just need to click on one of the registry sections scanned, e.g. System or Component, and then click Ignore, to prevent that section of the registry from being scanned again.

Thank you all! I'm just running Wise Disk Cleaner and I'm impressed so far. It found 1,3 GB to be cleaned at the very first scan! Definitely more thorough than CCleaner. Let's keep this thread alive and share our advice/feedback/experience with other cleaners (off CCleaner).

Have a question yet ... how safe is the slimming system at WDC, it has found another 1GB of old Windows installations, so I ponder to clean it but want to hear from you before I do it.

I've used WDC slimming function since a long time: never an issue.

 

Are those files in Installer folder? I use Patch Cleaner for those and move them to other partition instead of deleting them.
For windows update backup files I use Windows built-in disk cleaner. I wouldn't trust 3rd party tool to clean those files.

 

Why 419 in particular? Was that the last unbundled CC?

 

Was about to ask the same thing myself. Looked at a few alternatives, but not liking what I have seen and tested.

Those files can be redundant except if you decide to uninstall a patch and later decide to uninstall previous version also. In this case uninstaller wouldn't work if it wouldn't find file in that location. That's why I prefer to move those files to some other location instead of deleting them. Though I never needed any of those files so far.

Nice catch! Forgot about that. For now, I think I will just use the portable version.

 

BleachBit 2.0 is just around the corner, open-source, and you can entirely write your own custom cleaning rules if you wish with their open-source cleaning engine format.

 

Also moved to Wise Disk Cleaner on alternate machine for occasional beyond-Windows cleanup, main only has Windows built-in. As someone inexperienced with optimizers, WDC appeared to do the right thing (mostly) with just default settings. BleachBit, hmmmm.

There is great info here which is appreciated. CCleaner was such a go-to staple in my mind even though it was not often used. After this, though, the switch was very easy.
