I am a registered user. I have been trying to update my signature files using a manual update. I have the server set to 'choose automatically'. Idid a network repair via Imon->Network config changes and restarted my computer. I even turned off my firewall but this did not help. I just updated a-squared antimalware scanner definitions without problems. The following is my event log: Thank you for your help

Check your proxy settings in the NOD32 advanced update setup.

    Hi Marcos,

The proxy settings is not checked and the page is blank.

    Blackspear,

Thank you for responding. I have a cable modem connection so I don't believe the problem is related to my ISP. I ran lspfix and no problems were found. I believe the problem is on NOD's side. As I stated earlier, I am able to download definitions of other security applications without problems.
I have been using NOD32 for about three years. When I first started using the program, manual updates were processed quickly on the first try. Now, it takes many attempts before it is successful.

^ Works fine here, I doubt it's an issue with ESET or their servers (you can check em here).
Maybe a reinstall would fix it.

    You are welcome.

I too am on cable, it does once in a blue moon disconnect. The error message gethostbyname is a lack of internet connection.

Did you run the Winsock Repair tool as well as Repair IMON?

    Cheers :D

I think I have found the problem. I am using Comodo firewall and had been blocking access to svchost. Are there any problems to giving svchost permanent access to the internet?
