Unable to Login to My Laptop

    I recently got a Compaq Presario 1200 running windows xp service pack 2 and installed Eset AV 5 to clean it up.

    During detecting and cleaning some threats it asked to restart my computer to in order to delete some threats which it was unable to remove.

    I clicked yes and it restarted my laptop. But after i clicked the login icon the wallpaper is shown, but then it logs off. And i am unable to move past this. I tried safe mode but it made no difference.

    Any advice/ help please?

    If you can't access the comp in safe mode then it is time to repair the install
