unable to connect to a remote pc via mgm console

Have a pc tower connected to my notebook via wireless. tower running xp pro & notebook running xp home. Tried to connect with management console but got 'specify correct logon info for remote contact admin about permissions or remote auth rules ... '.
This is how i installed: downloaded echo workstation make 8039 & installed on the tower, installed windows agent ... on the notebook. So what is the order i should install echo workstation & windows agent or what should i install on which

Did notice something about my ti home 11 tasks. Gave the usrid & password to run the task. When i went back to edit the task the password had been changed from 6 blackouts to 8 blackouts. Is that significant? TIA
