    Hi MargoJH,

Before you start, please unzip hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
These easily get lost in a Temp folder.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.go2net.com/
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.hotbar.com/dyn/hotbar/3.0/sb_searchPageHome.htm

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [websx] C:\Program Files\websx\int339890.exe -auto

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [EnigmaPopupStop] C:\Program Files\Enigma Software Group\SpyHunter\PopupBlocker\EnigmaPopupStop.exe

    O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} (Fun Web Products Installer Start) - http://imgfarm.com/images/nocache/funwebproducts/SmileyCentralInitialSetup1.0.0.5.cab

Then follow this thread for the asaamon.cpy.dll:
    http://forums.broadbandmedic.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=6;st=0

    Regards,

    Thank you Pieter :D
That seems to have solved the problem at last. Where does that nasty creature arrive from?
Just one question. How do I get my home page back? The home page option in internet options is greyed out so cannot set a home page at all. I do use go2net as my home page.
    Thanks again
    Margo

    Hi Margo,

Fix this one if you want to have control over your Homepage back:
    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

And read this one where most infections come from and how to guard yourself:
