From the site of the Dutch museum "Rijksmuseum" in Amsterdam:
    https://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/stories/operation-night-watch/story/ultra-high-resolution-photo

See for example also the news site DutchNews.nl:

But how do you view a photo online with a total file size of 5.6 terabytes? And what has the connection speed (bandwidth, etc) to be?
And, aren't they afraid that if hundreds of thousands are trying to see it, it is going to be something similar like ddos?
From what I understood, the average home user (not only the art experts) should be able to see it.
Am I now making some mistake?

LOL. I assume this is all for the novelty of zooming in and looking at it. I don't know what you would do with it if downloaded. It's too big to open in a photo editor. At least I assume it is.

You'd be hard pressed to d/l it at anything remotely like it's full resolution, but you could possibly d/l it at lower res in sections with a bit of effort and stitch them together yourself,
