Ultimate Defender

Unfortunately, when my sister was surfing the net on my computer she managed to contract the virus known as "Ultimate Defender". Anybody have any reccomendations for free anti-virus software I could download to be rid of this problem? It seems like most free software only prevents issues. Simply deleting its files hasn't worked for me. -Getting tired of false pop-up virus-warnings!- Halp!

 

It seems to be a rogue anti-spyware.

Checking its database, there is an Ultimate Defender there.

 

You can follow these procedures @ Bleeping Computers but You really need to consider one of the cleaning assistance forums. I'd suggest following the below suggestions made in a recent thread that should fix you right up.

 

Also, for information purposes, you should read from this site, to be aware that there are false anti-spyware programs out there.
