I'm trying to create a UBD that has Drive Snapshot on it so that I can easily restore images. Can anyone help me determine how to create UBD so that all the other imaging programs do not have desktop icons? Also, how can I create one for DS. I have the DS plugin, and it is enabled, but there are no shortcuts to it, desktop or otherwise.

    Nate,

From Windows, can you find snapshot.exe on the CD? Which folder?

I'm a little confused by your question, so I'll answer it as broadly as I can. If you are asking where Drive Snapshot is on the PE CD I do not know. It was in the Z:\UBCD4Win\plugin\Disk\Backup\snapshot directory before the ISO was created, now I can't find it. According to the output file the DS plugin was never processed. That's weird. I can get DS on the DVD itself, by adding it to the custom location, but I can't seem to be able to create any shortcuts for it.

So you can put snapshot.exe on your UBD DVD in a custom folder but you can't get the plugin to "install".

I haven't used UBD so I can't explain the plugin issue but DS doesn't really need a "plugin" anyway. Just navigate to snapshot.exe on the DVD and double click. It works just the same as if it is running from a plugin. That's why you can also run snapshot.exe from a USB flash drive when booted to UBD.

I hope someone can answer your original question.

Yeah, I know that. DS is very functional that way. I was just looking for a way to make the process a little easier.
