Here's a short, negative review of the UKUI (Ubuntu Kylin User Interface) desktop environment in Ubuntu 17.04 Zesty Zapus, covering setup & installation, slow, laggy experience, numerous visual inconsistencies, inability to perform a clean uninstall back to default, and more. So.

Its supposed to be a Chinese take on Windows 10 but Windows 10 can at least be made to cohere with a theme change, Classic Shell and T-clock, a nice replacement for the hard-to-read Windows clock interface.

Ubuntu Kylin offers lots and lots of regressions with no real functionality. Mainstream GNOME works. Not this fork.

I don't see a Windows 8/10 take in any shape or form.

The interface looks like Windows but poorly implemented.

Not the same thing like the popular Chinese Ymlf XP clone that appeared some years back.

Things have changed in Linux and not necessarily for the better.
