by Michael Larabel @michaellarabel - October 20, 2022 Ubuntu 22.10 “Kinetic Kudu” Released (October 20, 2022) Announcement Release Notes Download
Hi @Stupendous Man , Just an FYI. I've had a far better experience with Kubuntu 22.10 than I had with the last version I tried. So far it looks like a keeper and is happily installed along side Win10 on my desktop PC.
Very nice, Krusty. Thanks for sharing. I hope Kubuntu 22.04.1 with all the updates is better than 22.04 as well. I'll try that in some time. For now, I'm still on 20.04.5.
FYI @Stupendous Man , I tried a Live UFD of 22.04.1 and had no internet connection at all on the same machine, exactly the same as after receiving the first updates to 22.04. The internet icon showed I was connected but I could not reach any sites in Firefox, nor would it receive any updates in Discover (being a Live session I realise they would not have stuck anyway). I did not try WiFi as I was way too frustrated, but Ethernet should have worked fine, and is what I am using right now in 22.10. For some reason the 22.04 branch will not run on this machine, but I am happy enough with 22.10.
Thanks for trying a Live UFD of Kubuntu 22.04.1, Krusty. Odd how you had no internet connection, just like when you tried 22.04(.0), earlier. A moment ago, I ran a Kubuntu 22.04.1 live session. It had internet, I used Firefox, also tested audio and video, all was fine. Lucky for me, for when I'll install Kubuntu 22.04.1 in a couple of weeks or months. But still odd how internet connection is missing on Kubuntu 22.04.1 on your machine. Good that Kubuntu 22.10 works OK on your machine.
