    This is definitely a step in the right direction, also Canonical needs to release updated drivers patch for their kernel via downloadable separate install. This would allow many to run pesky latest hardware which is not recognized by the kernel. Case in point, brand new i3 Toshiba laptop with dreaded Atheros LAN, the wireless works but the wired LAN doesn't unfortunately. Only SUSE with latest kernel works on it.
