Nobody expects a Linux distribution ... review. But this is a long, thorough one of Ubuntu 24.10 Oracular Oriole, tested in a multi-boot Windows and Linux setup on a laptop with AMD processor and integrated graphics and SSD storage, covering live session, installation and post-install use, including look and feel, ergonomics, awful fonts, confusing first-time setup wizard, redesigned installer with bad workflow, slow boot time, rigid desktop and missing configurations, performance, responsiveness, problems due to Wayland and underlying Gnome technology, unappealing App Center, significant eye strain due to bad font color and contrast choices leading to shortened testing, comparison to older Ubuntu releases and Unity desktop, overall trend in quality and usability, some other observations, and more. Take a look.

    Ouch, it hurts!
Thanks for taking the time to endure this!
Maybe Wayland has something to do with all the fonts problems?

I don't think so, this was purely bad contrast - too pale.

    Ok, thanks.
Last I checked, Wayland still didn't support file drag and drop, so there remains a lot to do there.
    Unless that changed recently.

Wayland has tons and tons of problems, but in this particular case, specifically the font contrast, isn't the Wayland issue.

I usually read @Mrkvonic 's reviews but his OP tells me I don't need to this time.
