ubuntu 11.10 feedback

Vasa, you are right the silence is confusing because I'm confused! I have tried so many solutions to the sound problem without any results. My feeling is that probably the laptop I had Ubuntu on is too old in terms of hardware, and I don't have more time because of my job. I haven't given up Linux, as a matter of fact, I'm trying out different distros through the live CDs and like them more and more (At the moment I'm discovering Kubuntu which I prefer it to Ubuntu). I also like Lucid Puppy, an amazing feat to have an almost complete OS in such a small installation. Thanks a lot for your support and links.
