ubcd 3.5.0

is this compatible with vista?i thought it was but when trying to install it i get an error

 

According to their FAQ - "Currently the only issue with running UBCD4WinBuilder on a Vista system is UAC. Our builder must be 'run as Administrator' even if you are currently signed in as an Administrator." Or in so many words means - run the setup file as administrator.

i figured out what was blocking it,im trying out cis and the av was blocking it.another question-do i have to have an xp disc because im trying to use my vista and no luck with it?if not then is there something else like this program i can use because i dont have a xp disc just vista?thanks

Without the XP CD (Source), you can't build it on Vista.
I found a WinXP Pro at a yard sale for $25.
Any friends with XP? Ask to borrow or build 1 for you.
The Boot disk doesn't do any updating or validation once built.
