I have 4 partitions on my hard drive. And I have more than enough disk space, 226 GB of unallocated space to create another 60 GB partition. But the software does not give me the option of creating a new one. The limit to the number of partitions I can create should be how much free unallocated space is available right ? What am I doing wrong ?
MBR’s Limitations MBR also only supports up to four primary partitions — if you want more, you have to make one of your primary partitions an “extended partition” and create logical partitions inside it. http://www.howtogeek.com/193669/whats-the-difference-between-gpt-and-mbr-when-partitioning-a-drive/
