i work with older guys who are very computer illiterate. they just use it for a couple of programs that they need to do their job. i like to change the desktop icons on them and rename them as well. it's funny watching them try to start one program, and another keeps opening instead! :D cheap amusement, but i need something to do to help pass the time.

I set my Doom 3 to use the NV1x (GeForce1) codepath for graphics, and now my brother plays it and says "why are are all the graphics screwed up?"

<Its supposed to run at NV3x codepath (GeForce FX) with extra detail>

    Poor bro :p:D

Yep, that was me - sorry about the mess!

Any number of you could pull a fast one on me. I would go into a panic and be calling my computer guru to travel that 50 miles, and put ALL OF THAT MONEY into his gas tank! :'(

How about that very, very simple little trick of putting a piece of scotch tape on the bottom of the mouse, covering up that little mouse ball? :-*

Of course, mine is optical, so I doubt that would work on me..... :)

    Workaround for optical mice.
+ Use something called "medical paper tape" for optical mice. I dunno if its available in your nick of the woods.
+ If not, then just color the scotch tape over using one of those markers that write on plastic [OHP slide markers, white board markers, permanent markers ;)]
+ Or use electrical insulating tape on top of scotch tape.
+ or simply stick a pece of paper between mouse sensor and scotch tape.
remember... BLACK color is VERY fashionable for these tricks [black colored paper, tape, marker... whatever]

Now your friends can go lawsuit crazy on you ;)
