    You've re-installed TrueImage too?

Re-installed and that did nothing. Same symptoms. This is the 2nd major problem I've encountered with the Acronis tools. Very frustrating.

I get the same error when I run the disk director suite so it's obviously a service level component that's not working right.

    P.S.

It was working fine prior to installing SP 2 Pro (was running SP 2 Home).

THe problems persist after an uninstall, reboot, and "fresh" install?

Yes. I thought I answered that but that's exactly what I did and it didn't work an uninstall, reboot and fresh install of true image.

I re-imaged back to the XP SP 2 Home backup and it's working there. I applied all the windows updates so in theory it's the same vintage as the XP Pro that doesn't recognize the drives. Something screwy going on there. Everything else is fine in the XP Pro installation. XP's Disk Manager and explorer didn't have any issues.
